That philosophy sets Howard, Wershbale & Co. apart from other firms. The certified public accounting and consulting firm was established in 1990 and its primary shareholders have more than 20 years of experience practicing together under their belts. Today, the firm provides accounting, audit, tax and consulting services including litigation, valuation and forensic support, tax planning strategies and wealth management.

While the firm has a broad base of clients, manufacturing, nonprofit, real estate, construction and health care are its core industries. In fact, more than 200 health care providers rely on the firm for accounting, auditing and management consulting services.

Sbrocco credits the firm’s success with a commitment to taking care of its employees — offering perks such as sponsoring a basketball team and exercise programs. “[Treating our employees well] helps them serve our clients better,” says Sbrocco. “As a result, our turnover is lower than the industry average.”

In fact, the firm has grown from its initial 25 employees to 90, all of whom are dedicated to helping their clients’ businesses grow and succeed. “We pay attention to detail and we take the time to get to know our clients,” says Sbrocco. “It’s proved well. We’ve grown from a small firm to one of the largest in Ohio.”
