a defined contribution relationship manager. Geiger, a Kent State
University graduate, previously worked at Noble-Davis Consulting in

John W. Marr Jr. has joined
Cuyahoga Community College Eastern Campus as dean of academic affairs.
Marr, who holds a doctorate in higher education administration from The
Ohio State University, was director of admissions at Clark State
Community College.

Tim Fowler has been named vice president for Atlas Electric Co. Fowler previously worked for Minority Electric Co.

Dan Reynolds
has been named CFO of Utility Choice International. Reynolds brings
more than 40 years of experience in the steel, automotive supplier and
chemical industries.
Hospitality
Embassy Suites Hotels has hired Alan Feuerman
as director of sales and marketing of Embassy Suites Cleveland
Downtown. Feuerman comes to Hilton Worldwide with more than a decade of
managerial experience at large and midsize properties across the
Midwest.
Law
Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell attorney J. Bradley Allison has
left the firm to become a full-time magistrate in the Columbiana County
common pleas court. Allison had been with HHM for nearly two years.
Thompson Hine appointed James B. Aronoff to
the newly created management role of administrative partner in the
firm’s Cleveland office. Aronoff is a member of the firm’s real estate
practice group and leader of the group’s real estate capital markets
practice.
Manufacturing
GrafTech International has appointed Quinn Coburn to vice president, corporate treasury. Coburn recently served as vice president and treasurer at NCR Corp.
The Lubrizol Corp. has named Suzanne F. Day
as corporate vice president and general counsel. Day, who holds a law
degree from Case Western Reserve University, joined Lubrizol’s global
legal division in 1998.
Tim Viancourt has been named
national sales manager of Fire-Dex. Viancourt, a Cleveland State
University graduate, comes from a family with a 50-year history in the
fire service.
Media
The Plain Dealer has named Debra Adams Simmons as editor. Adams Simmons, PD managing editor since September 2007, previously served as editor of the Akron Beacon Journal for four years.
Nonprofits
Karen A. Bozzelli has been appointed president of the Akron General
Development Foundation. Bozzelli received her law degree from the
University of Akron and her undergraduate degree from Miami University.
The Home Builders Association of Greater Cleveland has hired Brenda Callaghan
as executive director. Callaghan served as executive director for the
Greater Cleveland Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling
Industry and the Professional Remodelers of Ohio from 1997 to 2007.
Cheryl A. Carter has
been hired as executive director of Arts Collinwood. Carter, a Hiram
College graduate, most recently worked at the Arthritis Foundation,
Northeastern Ohio Chapter.
Dennis Cocco has assumed the
role of operational manager of the JumpStart Entrepreneurial Network.
Cocco will remain the associate director of the Great Lakes Innovation
and Development Enterprise and a manager of the Innovation Fund.
Neighborhood Progress Inc. has named Joel Ratner president
and CEO. Ratner, a graduate of Yale University and Case Western Reserve
University School of Law, previously led the Warren-based Raymond John
Wean Foundation since 2007.
Sports
The Cleveland Gladiators have named Cory Howerton
as COO and general manager. Howerton previously served as vice
president of sales of the Major Indoor Soccer League’s Milwaukee Wave
and group sales director with the NBA’s Seattle Supersonics and WNBA’s
Seattle Storm.
Jack J. Lesyk, adjunct assistant professor of psychology at
Cleveland State University, has been elected president-elect of the
Association for Applied Sport Psychology. Lesyk has worked with athletes
from more than 25 different sports at competitive levels ranging from
scholastic to professional.
Veterinary Medicine
The Sarah Allison Steffee Center for Zoological Medicine has named Mike Selig as full-time veterinarian at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. He comes from the Barberton Veterinary Clinic in Summit County
