A career nonprofit employee become a for-profit entrepreneur?

When you start your own business, you’ve got to understand that you do everything. You’ll pay the bills and balance the books, and you’ll have to deal with employees. I had to learn human resources by doing human resources, which was tough. Fortunately, those working for nonprofit organizations have to wear dozens of hats, so in an essence, you’re always being entrepreneurial. And in nonprofits, you’re always networking. That most definitely won’t change, at least not if you want to be successful. In the long run, the skill sets needed in the two worlds aren’t so different.
