Get Your Team Cooking
You might think you’re good enough at your job to do it blindfolded, but what about undertaking a totally new task? Like making sushi?
Last fall, Beachwood’s Moxie, the Restaurant, launched team-building business events that can give you the answer.
Groups work with chef Jonathan Bennett to complete challenges in the kitchen, like rolling sushi blindfolded while co-workers talk you through the process. The best looking sushi wins.
“There’s so many people who don’t work well together, often because they don’t know each other or are too shy to speak with each other,” explains Christine Wille, Moxie’s catering director. “What we wanted to do was to bring them in and pick people to work together, to get to know each other.”
During another activity, teams are given a budget and must create smoothies using variously priced ingredients. The winner has the best tasting and most profitable creation.
And if you don’t see your team-building exercise on the menu, Moxie can cook up an event or an actual cooking demo for your needs.
