At Zinner & Co. the success of its clients is its business. As a full-service accounting firm, the partners and associates work alongside their clients to provide everything from accounting and tax services to wealth management consulting.

“We look to develop long-term relationships with our clients,” says Gabor Adler, partner in the firm’s Pepper Pike offices. “We work with their goals and respond to their needs as they change. Our motto is, ‘Your success is our business.’ ”

Founded in 1938, the firm works in several industries, including nonprofit, real estate, service and manufacturing. “Our firm covers a wide variety of industries and that, in turn, gives us a lot of knowledge and experience in different areas,” Adler says.

Although it works with companies of all sizes, Zinner has found a niche in family-owned businesses, providing tax services, business consultation and planning. “We’re very close with a lot of our clients, many of whom have businesses than extend through generations,” says Adler. “We are a boutiquelike firm in that respect.”

To ensure its employees — both new and seasoned — stay abreast of the latest accounting practices, the firm holds regular training through its Zinner University.

“We do it the Zinner way — create efficiencies in the quality of work that is executed,” says Adler. “We are always open to changing some of these methods if it means providing a better [product] to serve our client base.”

Adler advocates an open communication policy for employees and clients. “It’s important for any business to have a group of trusted advisers to consult with," he says.
